Braces in Woodstock, GA
Dr. Dierkes performs orthodontics for residents of Woodstock, GA.
What Are Braces?
The field of orthodontics covers a lot of procedures, but braces are the most common and what most people think of when they hear the word “orthodontics.” When you think of braces you may picture preteens and teenagers. Certainly children and teens are the most common wearers of braces. It’s good to correct problems like gapped, crooked or crowded teeth or bite problems like crossbite, openbite or underbite as early as possible. Adults, too, can have their orthodontic issues corrected by braces, and generally get the same excellent results as children and teens.
How is the Braces Procedure Performed?
If you’re a little nervous about having braces attached, you’ll be glad to know there are no drills or needles full of Novocain involved. The process involves adhering the small metal brackets to the teeth with a very strong cement, and then attaching the wires to the brackets to complete the braces. There’s no need for worry or nervousness before this simple procedure.
